HOBART® Formula XL®-525 Gas Shielded Flux Core Carbon Steel Tubular Welding Wire of 0.045" Dia is made for welding of mild and carbon steels where good impact toughness at subzero temperatures is required. Flux-cored wire suitable for all position welding gives low smoke as well as spatter and an extremely low-hydrogen weld deposit. It gives high-quality welds even when welded through rust, mill scale and some primers. Wire does not leave worm tracks under normal welding conditions. It exceeds the AWS impact strength necessity of 27.11 J at both -20 deg F and -40 deg F. Wire with 82000 psi tensile strength and 73000 yield strength has 29% elongation as well as 136 J CVN at 0 deg F and 90 J CVN at -40 deg F. Wire can be used as a substitute this electrode for 7018 in many areas of application due to its high-impact values and low-hydrogen levels. Wire conforms to MIL-E-24403/1D and reduces chance of under-bead cracking. It is associated with E71T-1M/12MJ H8 class of wires and is used for single as well as multi-pass applications with 75% argon/25% CO2 since it delivers outstanding welding performance and produces a high-quality. Wire comes in a spool of 33 lb and is used in shipbuilding, storage vessels, offshore structures, earthmoving equipment as well as piping industries. This wire has to be stored in a dry, enclosed environment and in its original intact packaging.
