With its versatility and exceptional performance, Alumi Glide® 5356 boasts a melting range of 1060-1175°F, a density of 0.96 lbs./ci., and a typical tensile strength of 38,000 psi. Its superior wire surface finish ensures trouble-free welding, while the exceptional cleanliness of the wire guarantees sound weldments. The unique diameter control of Alumi Glide® 5356 ensures consistent feeding, whether you’re using it for manual or robotic welding applications. It offers the convenience and reliability you need for a seamless welding process. Alumi Glide® 5356 aluminum welding wire is recommended for a range of base metals and casting alloys, including 5050, 5052, 5083, 5356, 5454 and 5456.
Applications
Suitable for both GTAW/TIG and GMAW/GMAW-P as a general-purpose repair and maintenance aluminum filler metal, it’s commonly used in welding boats, ships, bicycles, trucks, pressure vessels, automotive parts, and equipment. The aluminum welding wire can be used for welding 6XXX series alloys and most aluminum cast alloys (mold repair) along with 5XXX/6XXX series with less than 2.5 percent magnesium. It’s great for non-heat treatable weldments as well as for when weldments are subject to elevated temperatures (above 150°F). The high strength-to-weight ratio of Alumi Glide® 5356 provides the ability to join, repair, fabricate, customize, and modify aluminum components in many industries, including agricultural, automotive, general fabrication and truck/trailer manufacturing.
